About the Course

This approved Louisiana responsible vendor program is required to obtain your RV card (Responsible Vendor Server Card.) This alcohol seller server training course is designed to promote legal and responsible sale and service of alcohol and tobacco in Louisiana.

Responsible Vendor training is an important way to learn how to recognize signs of intoxication, how to check ID’s, minors and alcohol, Louisiana state specific server laws, and many other skills to help you keep your customers and your establishment safe.

Course Features

Our Louisiana RVP is an interactive course with full audio narration and real-world scenarios for the best user experience and information retention. Our course is 2 hours long. Once you create an account you can log in from any computer* and train any time, anywhere.

You can log in and out of your training account and your place in the course will be saved. Your course will be available to complete for 6 months from purchase.

After successfully completing this course and the 25 multiple choice question final exam, you will be able to print your temporary Certificate of Completion from your own printer.

*This course will work on mobile devices including iPhone's or iPad's.

Official Vendor Permit (Bar Card)

Upon successfully completing our Louisiana Responsible Vendor Program and final exam, you will be able to immediately print your temporary certificate of completion.  It will also be emailed to you.

On a weekly basis we will upload LRVP completion records to the Louisiana Alcohol and Tobacco Control.

The ATC no longer mails the responsible vendor cards. Your RV card will be available on the ATC website. Click here to print your card.

Your permit will expire in 4 years on the last day of the month you completed your training.

Renewing Your Bar Card

The ATC requires you to take an approved seller server training course every four years to remain Responsible Vendor Program (RVP) certified. There is not a separate re-certification course if you have already been RVP certified, nor is there a way to 'test out' of the RVP course.

Louisiana RVP Training Requirements

According to Louisiana law 'any employee of a vendor who is authorized to sell or serve alcoholic beverages or tobacco products in the normal course of his or her employment or deals with customers who purchase or consume alcoholic beverages or tobacco products' must take an RV Course and obtain an RV Server Permit within 45 days of their hire date.

RV Program Approval
